radically creative yet fully orthodox views on the nature of choice, sin, in heaven, represent

a perfect fusion of platonic thought and Christian doctrine.

We're reading our way through the works of

C.S. Lewis. This month will be working through Jack's bookshelf, looking at the authors and books

which shaped the life and writings of C.S. Lewis. Today we begin with Plato. Today, I'm

joined by Dr. Lou Marcos. He is a professor of English and scholar in residence at

Houston Christian University, where he holds the Robert H. Ray Chair in Humanities. He teaches

courses on film, on the classics, British Romantic and Victorian poetry and prose, as well as on

C.S. Lewis and J.R.R. Tolkien. He's been on the show

discussing his book's afterlife in the Western poetic tradition, myth made fact, and today

about Plato, drawing from his 22 book from Plato to Christ, how Platonic Thought Shaped the Christian Faith.
