This season, we're reading some of Lewis's letters, which have been brought together in several different collections.

In season seven, we've already read his correspondence with Mary Willis Shelburne, found in Letters to an American Lady,

which leaves his letters to children and his exchange of Latin letters

with St Giovanni Calabria.

The opening quotation comes from a note written by Marjorie Lammead at the beginning of letters

to children.

And in the last episode, we looked at all of the introductory sections of that book, and today

we're going to be digging into the letters themselves.

How are you two doing this fine morning?

Doing well. It's actually fun when we do these Friday morning recordings because I do

Mass with the Buddy and then I get about an hour before coming here and I grab coffee. So,

lovely way to start the morning celebrating

the mass. And I think I say this every time. I love, I love what I love what I love a new book

because it's always a different format in a little. So yes, listeners are like, well, what are you

talking about? This is just letters again. We're not going in like a chronological order.
