on Ron Petrone from White Rose Witching to talk about working with queer ancestors. So welcome Ron to the

show. Thanks. Thanks for having me. Of course. So Ron, can you share a little bit of your journey and

your background and kind of guide us into this topic that we're going to discuss today?

Yeah, absolutely. So I am a queer identity. journey and your background and kind of guide us into this topic that we're going to discuss today?

Yeah, absolutely. So I am a queer-identified Cuban-American, and I was raised Roman Catholic, but in that sort of, you know, from Florida, originally South Florida, and so was raised in that

sort of superstitious Catholic milieu.

I usually tell people, if you've read a lot, any of like a Latin American fiction,

it's that literary genre of magical realism.

And when I was in high school, when we were reading a bunch of it,

me and my other Hispanic, like, peers were like, yeah, this is just like how it is.

And everybody, all the non-Hispanic folks were a little bit stunned by that.

And so I, even though I tell folks that I've been practicing pagan or practicing witch

for about 20 years, the reality of it is that that I grew up in a very sort of folk Catholic

environment that incorporates a bunch of, a bunch of stuff that

while folks like my grandmother might not consider it to be witchcraft or anything like that,

it very much is kind of a variation on a theme. So in some capacity, I've been in this sort of occult or esoteric space for pretty

much all of my life. And over the last several years, I've really dove, I guess, more deeply into

it. I've become an ordained pagan cleric through sacred well congregation. I've really, really worked to connect with my local community to build community,

but to also just find spaces with folks who have like practices or her like-minded folks.
