You may know him as The Witch of Southern Light on social media, or co-hosts of the Southern Bramble podcast, or author of cunning words, a grimoire of tales and magic. So Marshall, for those who don't know before we kind of get into the book conversation, could

you tell the listeners a bit about your background and what got you interested in the craft?

Yeah, absolutely.

I'm a queer Texas-based witch.

A lot of my practice lies somewhere in the realm of traditional witchcraft and folklore witchcraft. Both my books really, really dive into the aspect of like narrative magic and like the bardic tradition of passing down information through the power of story. And that's always been really fascinating to me

because history and mythology and folklore really, really inform my craft. I mean, it informs

a lot of witchcraft, even trial records and, you know, things written down about witches from

the past that have become more prevalent

in modern witchcraft and paganism. So that's that's the basis of where are the basis of my

praxis. But I get into witchcraft when I was like 12, 13 years old. I was always obsessed with witches,

which movies, which books, anything with magic in it,

So when I discovered that it was something that I could really practice, it was, it was the 90s.
