If you were to list Ayrton Senna's greatest drives, the 1993 European Grand Prix at Donington

would surely be right up there.

And if you were to list his greatest opening laps,

there's every chance this would be right at the very top.

Sena left everybody else trailing in his wake on that soggy Easter afternoon,

including his nemesis Alam Prost,

whose Williams team made tough going of the changeable conditions.

But as Senna basked in his own glory and Prost's misery in equal measure, as ever,

there were plenty of other storylines from this weekend that rarely get a mention, given how

iconic this race has become in the Senna legend. So to help me, Glenn Freeman, work through

Senna's brilliance and much, much more from Donington, 1993, we have two men who were there that day. Gary Anderson,

who was on the pit wall for Jordan, and Mark Hughes, who was covering the race. Gary, I'll come to you

first. Thanks for joining us again. When you think back to Donington, 1993, what's the first thing

that comes to mind? Frustration, annoyance.

Really just wanting somebody kick if I could find it.

You know, it was one of those days when the opportunities were there.

And as a team, we didn't take them.

Lots of reasons for it.

But yeah, frustration and annoyance. But it was still nice to see some very, very good drives the grid and uh you know that's a set that's what sets the example of these guys the good guys

always rise to the top of the things like that are happening yeah and i think that's one of the

storylines we'll hopefully pick up on is that there were lots of other people other than senna
