Here on Pines with Jack, we are reading our way through the works of C.S. Lewis.

I'm Andrew, and I'm joined by my co-hosts, the lovely David and the lovely Matt.

This season we find ourselves among the stars, reading through the first of C.S. Louis's

science fiction trilogy out of the silent planet.

So we're finally arrived on Mars and we're looking forward to seeing Ransom as he begins to

explore.

And I'm really excited about the kind of move in mood and tone and how Lewis deliberately sees

through Ransom's eyes.

It's a real gift this chapter.

And you'll also learn why you shouldn't exercise on a full stomach

and why it's sometimes okay to talk to yourself,

especially after drinking a fair bit of whiskey.
