Great to have you with me, folks. Welcome back to the Meaning for Money podcast. This is the

213th episode and number six of season six. This season is all about auditing your personal

finances. Each week, we're taking a particular sort of area of our personal finances and taking

us a look at what you need to know and what you need to do, just to optimize them,

because things can very often get left and things that get left will drift out of kilter over

time. So best to stay on top of them. And hopefully that's what this is helping you to do.

But Benjamin Franklin apparently said that there are only two certainties in life, death and

taxes. That's one of those quotes where you think it's right, but you got it off the internet so it could not be.

Today I want to look at the tax that you might be paying, how to make the best of various tax allowances, reliefs and exemptions.

That's where we're going with that and they're fairly straightforward, but there's some fairly technical stuff.

Out of necessity though, it's got to be fairly high level. Because there's just,

the tax code is a big deal. There's lots of it. And so after we've gone through the main
