Welcome to Pints with Jack, Season 6, Episode 4, Cocktail, where we're discussing Out of the Silent Planet, Chapter 2.

Well, hello, everyone.

Here on Pineswood, Jack, we're working our way through the works of C.S. Lewis.

I'm Andrew, and I'm joined, as always,

by my co-hosts Matt and David. This season, we find ourselves among the stars and the planets,

reading through the first book of C.S. Louis's science fiction trilogy, out of the silent planet.

Last week, we discussed the first chapter of this season's book, and today we're going to

turn to chapter two, where our story takes a distinctly dark turn.

As we mentioned in the previous episode, since Lewis didn't give his chapters any names,

this season we're going to be naming each episode after a movie title.

And what's today's episode named after, David?

Well, in this episode, Ransom Spends Most of the Chapter Waiting for a Drink, so I thought

the episode should be called Cocktail, named after the 1988 movie starring Tom Cruise

and Elizabeth Shoe. As you can see,

I definitely have a preference for the movies of the 1980s. Yeah, let's maybe find something in

this millennium, just saying, but you know, as you wish. No, no, no, I am a dinosaur.

Okay. You're the last of the old Western men, huh?
