I've been on the job for six years.

Majority of our dispatch is varied.

Many of them involved alcohol abuse, domestic violence, injuries in the wild or all of the above.

Our staffing on the night of the most shocking incident I have ever responded to was small.

The only other EMTs in the ambulance with me were Daniel Fontre and Liam Tamella.

Liam drove us past a gas station and a vacant motel as a storm came in.

We had let the scene of a patient who suffered a major concussion and a bar brawl.

He refused to go to the hospital despite our repeated warnings of how high risk he was for a brain bleed.
