The truly wide taste in humanity will similarly find something to appreciate in the cross-section of humanity

whom one has to meet every day. In my experience, it is affection that creates this taste,

teaching us first to notice, then to endure, then to smile at, then to enjoy, and finally to appreciate the people who happen to be there.

Made for us? Thank God, no. They are themselves, otter than you could have believed, and worth far more than we guessed.

discuss the works of CS Lewis. This season, we're talking about love, slowly and deliberately

working our way through the four loves, the book where Lewis writes about affection, friendship,

romance, and charity. So here we are. We're not recording on our usual day because Andrew was at Camp

Island this weekend. How to go, Andrew? Oh my goodness. So I went to the CS Lewis Retreat.

President of the Lewis Foundation, Steve Elmore, was there along with just a whole host of some of my

oldest and dearest friends. And then a bunch of new folks.

We plunked down a bunch of our friends and somebody who had never been to the retreat before, sat down as well.

And I asked her, hey, how did you hear about the retreat?

And she said, well, you know, I listened to this podcast called Pints with Jack.

Have you ever heard of it?

And I said, well, as a matter of fact, so that was a

wonderful connection. And in fact, I took that big role of stickers that you had given me,

and I gave stickers out to tons of folks. So it was wonderful. Holly Ordway was there. Gregory
