0:48.8	1879 he became an apprentice of swords to a medicine man who belonged to the Hopi tribe in Arizona.
0:55.2	It was during this time that he learned the secret healing power of snake oil.
1:00.5	You see many cultures use snake oil to treat ailments. In fact Chinese railroad workers
1:07.6	back in the 1800s used the oil made from Chinese water snakes to help believe the debilitating pain caused from the repetitive
1:14.9	motions of laying down railroad tracks.
1:20.5	And to some extent, the snake oil may have actually worked.
1:24.0	Some medical professionals today believe that the high concentration of
1:27.8	omega-3 fatty acids in the snake oil may have in fact relieved the pain, but then came along the Rattlesnake King.
1:38.6	Clark Stanley got an idea. What if I could bottle the snake oil and sell it to the masses? And he did. But it turns
1:48.1	out that Clark Stanley didn't have access to Chinese water snakes. So he improvised and used
1:54.8	rattlesnake oil instead. In a public gathering Stanley once pulled a live
