Now imagine that secret was about yourself.

And if anyone found out about it, it would completely change your life.

Maybe for the worse. It might even get

you killed. Welcome to Strange and Unexplained with me, Daisy Egan. I'm a writer and an actor. I'm also

a proud queer person who has spent years hiding my queerness in various ways in order to survive.

And here, at 41, I'm fortunate enough to live in a time and a place in which who I am attracted to and how I present myself to the world doesn't spell absolute catastrophe for my life and my career, though it certainly doesn't help.

And I know that my privileges were earned on the backs

of countless queer people before me

who laid down their own safety

so that I can have my own.

Today, I'm celebrating Pride Month

on strange and unexplained

with two stories about hidden identities

that are totally unrelated

except for their queerness.
