a program like Georgetown end up being a possibility for you?

Oh, I mean, just because I was there every day, just like, I was there every day working

out with the school.

I verbally committed to Georgetown when I was a sophomore.

They were garbage, bro.

Like literally, like, they weren't even making the NIT tournament.

So it was just like nobody wanted to go to Georgetown at that time. You know, so it was after Big John Thompson, who won the national championship back in 84 with Patrick Ewing. He had retired. And then like three or four years, another coach was there. And they were in the ground. So I committed to them my sophomore year in high school. So I used to go up there every day after school and just work and train with those guys and everything like that. And I honestly say to make it to the NBA, you have to have like the right genetics. You have to be like the right height. And then you have to have the work ethic. And then you have to have a little bit of luck though though, too. Because, you know, I happened to go to a school that didn't have a center that was playing ahead of me. Nobody was really coming in the year after me looking to go to Georgetown. So I had time to develop and not have to, like, look over my shoulder all the time, you know, that, you know, my minutes may, you know, be taken. That makes like sense. All right, let's go back to the league. So you get drafted. You're on the Indiana Pacers. Yeah. You said it was, it was tough those first couple years. What was the hardest part about the transition from, like, college to the pros? Oh, man. And like, I don i feel like the time that you have because like in high

school everybody says that you know what everybody says that it's the time bro it's like because i like

at georgetown i have like maybe an 820 class and then i get done by like 2 30 i may have three or four

classes that day and then i go to practice and that's like Monday through Friday and then I get done by like 2.30. I may have three or four classes that day. And then I go to

practice. And that's like Monday through Friday and then you have practice. But you get drafted

to the NBA. You go to gym. Let's say during the summer the vets aren't really there in Indiana.

Like nobody wants to stay in Indiana. They go to Vegas. They go to Miami, New York, they go

train and stuff like that, know so L.A.

So I'm in Indy nobody's there and then they say all right you come in for you say Monday morning

you have your workout you get there at like 8 o'clock you get like treatment you know on your body

they make sure they massage you make sure any injuries you have they work on it that's an hour hour

15 you do I like to do my weight lifting first before I get on the court. So I lift like an hour and a half. And then let's say, and then after that, chill for a little bit in the locker room and go to my court work. So I'm basically in the gym from like eight. Then I leave like probably like one o'clock, you know? I'm done. done I get my shower then I have like the rest of

the day just to myself and like I'm 21 years old and it's gave me a bunch of money uh you know

I've never made before I grew up poor as hell you know so you know and it's like sometimes people

can like really get in like bad situations you know um you know because they have so much time on their hands, you know.

So I happen to be in Indiana where there's nothing really going on.
