Today, Scott, we're in First Chronicles 22 through 25, tackling four chapters in this book.

Yesterday, we saw David purchase the land that the temple will be built on.

And today, it seems like that project is getting underway.

Is that what's happening in these chapters?

Yeah.

I mean, really, the rest of First Chronicles and the beginning of Second Chronicles is,

it's all about the temple for a little bit here.

And I mentioned this before.

Remember, David's not going to be the one to actually build the temple, Solomon will.

But I love that David works to just make sure that's as easy as possible for Solomon. He starts getting everything ready for him for when the time comes.

And, man, Chapter 22 is so incredible to me.

I love David's charge to his son here. I wish I could read it all. But essentially what he does

is repeat that covenant God made with him. Tells Solomon to be strong and courageous. So kind

similar to what Moses told Joshua when Joshua was going to succeed him. And then he tells, David tells all

Israel's leaders, now determine, or some translations will say devote, devote in your mind and

your heart to seek the Lord your God as he tells them to build the temple, which is so great.

And then just again, remember, this would have been such an inspiration of the exiles, who had returned to Jerusalem to build another, though far less glorious temple than Solomon built.

And just like the leaders of Solomon's day were to devote themselves to seek the Lord, so too were these exiles who had returned.

And so now they're back, this reading this history should serve as an inspiration
