We're starting off a brand new year of going through Scripture together.

I've got Scott here.

He's going to be with us for the book of Genesis, which is really exciting.

If you're just getting started with us and you want more information about how to follow along with us as we walk through the entire Bible this year, there's an episode that dropped on December 2025.

You can go back and listen to that episode and get all the details that you need. But for today, we're going to jump right in because we've already started reading. It's January 1st. Our passage for today was Genesis 1 through 3. But before we get into that, Scott, we want to get to know you just a little bit. So can you tell us a little bit about who you are and what you do at the Daily Grace Co? Yeah. My name is Scott. I'm married to my wonderful wife, Crystal, who you have recorded a few

podcasts. Yeah, just a few. And I've got two amazing boys who are 12 and 10, Calvin and Judah.

I've been to the Daily Grace Co for about three years. I started as a staff writer,

which I love and now I serve as a staff writer, which I

loved and now as a theological editor. So just making sure everything we write and produce is

accurately represented. And you do a fantastic job of that. It's a joy to work with you. And I've

learned so much with working with you. And so I know our listeners are going to love getting to go

through Genesis. I'm excited. Okay, are going to love getting to go through Genesis.

I'm excited. Okay. So before we jump into Genesis 1 through 3, can we talk about Genesis as a whole?

Are there any things that we should keep in mind as we're reading and studying this book over the next few weeks?

Yeah, totally. I think one big thing is just Genesis 1 through 11 is really kind of the setup to the whole, not just Genesis, but the whole Bible.

It really just kind of shows where everything went wrong, how sin spreads.

But then starting in 12, really 12 through 50, just the focus really narrows down to Abraham and his family.

I'll mention this when we get there, but I mean, the promises God makes to Abraham

are just so, so important understanding Genesis

and the entire Bible.
