I'm so glad you're here. Welcome back to the Strong Women podcast. Today I have two guests with me. So pay attention. We have

Eric Shoemaker and Jessica Sanders. You might be asking, why do you have two guests and why do you

have a man? They have just authored a book called In His Hands prayers for your child or baby

in a medical crisis. It just released this summer. And so I am excited to hear their

stories and I know probably several of you listeners hear that title and you go, I'm sticking

around because so many of us have dealt with those sorts of sorrow and grief. We're going to talk about their stories,

what brought them to write a book together, and then some of the prayers, and talk about some of

the prayers that are in this book. Eric and Jessica are both authors, and they've written lots

of things. So go to Amazon and look up their names, and you'll find all the books that you can read by both of them. But we're going to get right to it. So thank you guys for coming. So some of our listeners who have been with us for a while will remember that Eric Shoemaker came on before with our friend Elise Fitzpatrick. They have written

a book together called Worthy. And so some of you might recognize his voice. But anyway,

first I want to just dive into this topic because it's kind of a loaded topic. There's lots to

talk about. But I feel a little strange just going right to the serious stuff,

but that's what we're going to do today. I want to hear y'all's stories of how, like, what is

your personal journey that led you to write a book about this grief and suffering of your own children?

So maybe, Eric, why don't you go first? Yeah, my wife and I actually

haven't had a childhood medical crisis with one of our living children, but we walked through

four miscarriages together. And so in the process of that, my friend Emily Jensen asked me to

write an article for risen Motherhood on the father's

perspective on miscarriage.
