Pints with Jack is your weekly CS-Lewish podcast, where Matt, Andrew and I break down and

discuss the works of CS Lewis.

This season, we're eavesdropping on the correspondence of a senior

demon, screw tape, as he explains how to tempt the patient, a human assigned to be tempted by

Scrutope's nephew, Wormwood. Each week will be considering a different letter, untwisting

and today I'm going to be interviewing Dr. Charlie Starr.

Dr. Charlie W. Starr is an associate professor of English at Alderson Broadest University in West Virginia.

He teaches writes and lectures on classical American literature, film, theology, and on the works

of C.S. Lewis and J. R.R. Tolkien. Dr. Starr has published numerous scholarly essays,

over 100 popular articles, a dozen chapters for book anthologies, and seven books, fiction,

nonfiction and scholarly, including The Fawn's Bookshelf, C.S. Lewis on

Why Myth Matters, and Light, C.S. Lewis's first and final short story. He has published

over a dozen never-before-seen C.S. Lewis manuscripts, and has been hailed as the world's leading

expert on C.S. Lewis's handwriting. Dr. Starr, welcome to Pites for Jack.
