And today's guest is no different. We are featuring Dr. Vivian Chen, one of my favorite humans to follow on Instagram.

You may know her as plate full health. She's constantly posting helpful information in infographics and ways that you can swap out.

Cleaner products in your life, whether it's cookware or makeup or skincare. She's absolutely amazing.

And she's actually a Western trained MD who for many years practice medicine the conventional way

and utilized prescriptions and pharmaceuticals only when it came to helping her patients.

And one day she just hit a wall and said, hey, I feel like I'm only helping these people temporarily

because my patients are coming back to me with side effects from these prescriptions.

And they're really just band-aid. I want to get to the root cause.

And so she switched the trajectory of her entire career. She switched totally over to functional root cause-focused medicine.

And nowadays she teaches people. She's dedicated her life to teaching us about one of the most common and important root causes

behind why chronic illness is exploding. And that is our modern exposure to environmental toxins.

And she explains in this episode that that's just something most doctors were never taught about in medical school.

And still to this day sort of laugh at. They sort of turn up their nose at the thought of environmental toxins actually contributing to symptoms of chronic illness.

And yet we've introduced so many new chemicals into our environment in the last 50 to 75 years

that our bodies are absolutely overburdened and could use some support, whether that's support in processing those toxicants,

and switching out a lot of our cookware products and cooking oils and skincare products and all of that to healthier options.

And so that is what Dr. Vivian specializes in because that is what she had to do for herself in order to heal her own chronic fatigue, migraines and anxiety
