He knew that this was the last time that he would gather and eat with his best friends. And he was sentimental about it. And it's just such a relatable image. Obviously, it's more extreme than this, but it is like the last time that you go to dinner with a friend who is moving away or the last time you hang out with your college friends before you all graduate. We just really get a glimpse of how much Jesus loved his disciples. And that really shows us how much he loves us. I never thought about that before, Beth. I love that. Jesus's choice to eat this meal with his disciples is such |
