week we have studied Isaiah 7, 10, through 14, and Matthew 1, 21 through 23. And we've learned that

Jesus is our long-awaited king, who enables us to have a relationship with God. So now, we want to

spend some more time thinking about how we want to apply what we've learned this week.

So, Alexa, how are you planning on applying these two texts?

Yeah, I've just been thinking more about what it means that Jesus is our Emmanuel and how

that impacts just my everyday life. I think it's really easy for me to know in my mind that God

is with me, but I don't think I actively live without awareness

that God is with me. And so when my circumstances are good, I might not think about God that

much. And so I'm not thinking about His presence with me. And then when my circumstances aren't good,

I might seek God more than I do when my life is good, but I don't think I trust in the truth

that God is with me in those circumstances.

And I think it's because I might not feel like God's presence is all that palpable in my pain.

But I actually think that's because I'm not actively considering God's presence and meditating
