0:32.8	episode of a year in the Bible. My name is Alexa and I'm joined this week by one of the writers
0:37.0	from the Christ Small Scripture study, Katie and I'm joined this week by one of the writers from the Christ and all scripture study, Katie.
0:39.3	Hey, friends, this week we have been looking at Psalm 22, 1 and 2 in Matthew 27, 45 through 50,
0:47.4	separately. But today, we are going to connect these two passages together and see what they teach
0:52.7	us about Christ. So, Alexa, do you want to start off our conversation on how these two passages connect to Jesus?
0:58.3	Yeah, if those listening were able to do the annotation day yesterday on Matthew 27, 45, through 50,
1:04.5	you know that one of the prompts asks you to circle the words in Matthew 27, 45, 50 that were taken from Psalm 22.
1:12.4	So those words occur in verse 46, when Jesus says, my God, my God, why have you abandoned me?
1:19.7	Jesus says these words as he is hanging on the cross, being punished for a crime he did not commit.
1:25.8	And like the study day says today in the Christ in
1:28.0	the Bible scripture study, the rest of Psalm 22 connects with what is happening to Jesus as he is
1:33.0	being crucified. People mock him and his garments are divided and people cast lots for them.
1:39.1	And it's just really incredible to think how what is happening to David and Psalm 22 is seen
1:43.6	during Jesus' crucifixion.
