talking about 1 Samuel 17, 41 through 50 and 1st Corinthians 1, 26 to 31. Today we will look at how we can

apply what we've learned in the passages to our everyday life. So Beth, what application points

are you going to be taking with you this week? Yeah, I think the thing that I've been most challenged by this week is that because God works through ways that are contrary to human and worldly wisdom,

I am called to trust that he will work in ways that are contrary to what I might expect or even believe is possible.

So my faith is really challenged.

Practically, what this looks like for my life is challenging my assumptions of what God can and cannot do.

So particularly, there are a few people in my life who, if I'm honest, often seem too far gone from God's redemption.

I often feel sad and even fall into despair when I think about these people.

These are people who are either very hostile

towards Christianity and not open to Christ or people who are just caught in cycles of sin or

addiction and they just seem like there's not really much hope for them. But that is conventional

wisdom saying that things are too big for God's power to work through.

And so this week has really challenged me that as I pray for these people, I need to think like David did, that I serve the Lord of armies and nothing is beyond his power.
