0:39.0	talking about 1 Samuel 17, 41 through 50 and 1st Corinthians 1, 26 to 31. Today we will look at how we can
0:46.4	apply what we've learned in the passages to our everyday life. So Beth, what application points
0:51.6	are you going to be taking with you this week? Yeah, I think the thing that I've been most challenged by this week is that because God works through ways that are contrary to human and worldly wisdom,
1:00.4	I am called to trust that he will work in ways that are contrary to what I might expect or even believe is possible.
1:07.0	So my faith is really challenged.
1:09.3	Practically, what this looks like for my life is challenging my assumptions of what God can and cannot do.
1:15.4	So particularly, there are a few people in my life who, if I'm honest, often seem too far gone from God's redemption.
1:21.3	I often feel sad and even fall into despair when I think about these people.
1:25.8	These are people who are either very hostile
1:28.7	towards Christianity and not open to Christ or people who are just caught in cycles of sin or
1:35.9	addiction and they just seem like there's not really much hope for them. But that is conventional
1:41.4	wisdom saying that things are too big for God's power to work through.
1:45.5	And so this week has really challenged me that as I pray for these people, I need to think like David did, that I serve the Lord of armies and nothing is beyond his power.
