taking a closer look at the passage we annotated yesterday from Exodus 12.

So, Beth, where does this passage fit in the biblical story?

Yeah, so the passages from Exodus that we've studied over the last two weeks have really set us up well for this week.

We've seen that Israel is God's chosen people, that they were enslaved by the

Pharaoh and Egypt, and that God has chosen Moses, an Israelite who lived in the Pharaoh's house

for a while, to be the one who is going to lead these people to freedom. And so that is all in the

background as we move into this week in the Passover when God's people actually do get to experience deliverance.

But before this, we actually, there's a moment between when God calls Moses and whenever he actually delivers the people through the Passover,

where we actually see the people of Israel and
