tragedy.

I am your host, your friend, your your lover, your literary mansplain or in chief and

Georgianologist Michael Ian Blacks, other gentleman else, wow, wrapping up my European

sojourn wrapping up my sabbatical abroad and none too soon.

I might add, I don't know if you can tell by my voice, but I was sick the last few days.

Nothing more than a mild summer cold and yet even that mild summer cold was somewhat debilitating

further compounded by a domestic crisis, my daughter who is going to be spending the summer,

not the summer, the semester abroad in Budapest, Hungary was supposed to leave her city of

residence and travel to England, London specifically to visit us for a week before moving on to

Hungary and the night before her flight realized that she had misplaced her passport, her passport

with her visa inside of it was nowhere to be found and she called me at about eight o'clock,

eight thirty in the morning, our time which was roughly one a.m. to a.m. her time, she'd already

been searching for hours, she was in a fine fetal and that necessitated a 36 hour busyness

stampede mostly on behalf of Martha to figure this situation out because obviously one cannot

travel across the pond without a passport so she's not coming to England now which is very sad

...
