Summary

This show’s topics are delightfully unsettling! First, you know that weird feeling you used to get when you went into your school at night? Or what about the feeling of walking through an empty mall? There’s a name for the locations that elicit that creepy feeling: Liminal Spaces. And Bethany is sharing some pretty bizarre examples, plus talking about how we view the people who work in those off-putting areas. Then, Kathleen cannot stop researching weird stories from coroners! She’s bringing her favorites to the table, but don’t worry: she’s giving some animal joke palate cleansers to make sure you don’t get too overwhelmed with the weird.

But I want to talk about the creepy literal liminal spaces that we can experience in our day to day life. And if you don't know what I'm talking about, picture how you feel when you at some point in your childhood walked into your school at night.

Kathleen, what about you? Well, it looks like we're doing two weird topics this week. I love it because I have stories from the coroner.

2:16.0

Not it's from the coroner. Coroner. I can't stop reading stories from medical coroners. I mean, I guess is there any other type of coroner?

My brother took us to a private beach on Coronado Island only for military. So it was basically empty, which one of the things I hate most about the beach is all of the people that get up in your business.

3:06.0

Yeah. Kids are running, putting sand on you and people are all up on your naked body or whatever kind of beach you go to.

3:13.0

Yes, too crowded. So we went to this military beach and it was so nice. And I was really expecting the Pacific Ocean to be freezing. But in July, it is quite, it's quite nice. And the water was like glittery. It's probably toxins floating up from Mexico, but it was beautiful.
