I'm so jazz to welcome you today to the And She Rises, the Fuck Up, the podcast.

I am, of course, your host, Amanda Francis.

Okay, so first, I want to give you an update on me, the baby, the birth, how it all came about.

And then we have a really exciting, really fun interview to share with you today. You may hear a

peculiar noise in the background. If you've had a baby in the past and you expressed milk for that

baby, you may recognize this noise. I hope this noise isn't traumatic to you as pumping milk

for a baby could really be a lot. It could really be a big job.

But I'm sitting here pumping the milk because my baby girl is here. She was born a week ago,

seven and a half days ago. And to give you a quick update, you know, I wasn't planning on

delivering that day. I didn't think, well, I was hoping it

wasn't the day. I wanted her to stand me a bit longer. I was 37 and a half weeks. Um, like we

knew she was fine, like good enough, big enough, like should be fine to be born at 37 weeks.

I wanted to go about a week longer. And I started getting this weird

pain under my C-section scar. And it was like pain coming regularly every few minutes. I texted

my doctor, described the pain to him. He said, there's only one thing that this pain is usually

associated with, the pain you're

describing. And it's like a uterine rupture. He's like, a uterine rupture can be life-threatening.

He's like, you need to meet me at the hospital. So I had gotten all this stuff out to put in the

hospital bags, but I hadn't physically packed the hospital bags. So Eddie packed the bags.

And Eddie, we had all three kids that night.

So Eddie's parents came over and slept here.
