While modern medicine can provide tremendous benefits, it doesn't always provide the best or most helpful solution. While I have some experience working with things like essential oils, I'm not what someone would call an expert in alternative medicine. Thankfully, today I'm joined by Amy Fewell. So this season, it's all about bucking the system and we've covered all sorts of systems

But one that we haven't really talked about much on this podcast, really at all.

And the past is the medical system.

We've touched on it here and there, but nothing too extensive.

Now, I have said this before and I'll say it again, I am not against Western medicine.

I'm thankful to have access to hospitals and doctors when we need them and even the

occasional round of antibiotics when the situation calls for it.

Now, that being said, I also have a healthy appreciation for figuring out how we can

support our bodies in allowing themselves to heal on their own or how we can use different

natural components or home remedies to help ourselves.

We don't have to constantly be running out and sometimes taking medications or drugs

that aren't a great fit for us, regardless of what this system might say.

So there's a lot of wisdom around this topic and I feel like this is one of those areas

where our culture and our cultural knowledge as a whole, we've just lost so much.

And I've dabbled pretty deeply in essential oils over the years and I've used them for

our family and our livestock and our garden, like all the different ways to use essential

oils.

And I've dabbled in herbs a little bit, herbal teas and a few little saves and things,

but it's not a topic that I have done a lot of research in.

And so I thought for today's episode, I would bring in somebody who knows their stuff.
