By the time we hit the end of our first semester in the fall we were not

staying in our dorm room anymore. We were afraid to stay there so we would stay

in our sorority house because they had an alarm system. The school actually put

us up in a hotel for a few nights off of campus. Whenever things escalated a lot

we stayed with my girlfriends and to live nearby and at some point the school

told us that they felt that it was too dangerous for us to keep coming back

on to campus.

I'm Jamie Bebe. And I'm Jake Deptula. On today's episode of Strickly Stock and

we're speaking with Jamie who was stocked by a stranger in college. After

coming out in college Jamie started getting strange messages from an AOL

account pretending to be her girlfriend. The message is told her what she was

wearing where she was going and soon became violent and threatening. Jamie and

her girlfriend told school officials but it didn't stop. Jamie thank you for

joining us today. Thank you for having me. Why do you walk us through the first

couple years of your college experience? Sure so I got to college at a small

liberal arts school in the south and I had no idea at that time that I was that I

was lesbian but I quickly met and fell in love with the girl on my soccer team

and despite our best efforts to keep our relationship kind of secret that

didn't work for very long and pretty soon everyone knew that we were

together. We were on the soccer team which was kind of sports or pretty

public place to be out in college I think and this was the late 90s

end of the 90s dating myself here but and so it was still kind of a risky time
