And today we'll be looking at Luke 19 and 20. Up front, I do want to be real with you guys.

There's a lot happening in these two chapters. We simply don't have time to cover every aspect of

these stories, but I will look to give you guys a 30,000 foot overview. And then we're going to

dive into two specific subjects that seems like Jesus is getting at here with all of these stories.

So starting in chapter 19, in 1 through 10.

It's the story of Zacchaeus.

You guys probably know the children's song.

Zakias was searching.

It's this idea of satisfaction in worldly ways.

It's money. He's rich.

He's a tax collector, but yet he was searching. He wanted to see

Jesus. So we see Jesus invite himself over to his house. And at the very, very end of this,

for the son of man, has come to seek and save the lost, which is what he did with Satechius.

We move into 11 through 27. This is parable of the minas. A minor is three months wages. So this is

potentially a lot of money. If you're the one with 10 minas, it's the story of faithful stewardship

versus fear-based inaction. So some of the servants spent and invested heavily, depending on what

they'd been given, and God multiplied their work,

and they brought in a return. One servant, however, not trust in the nobleman, hid his talent

and essentially threw it back in his face, blaming the nobleman for his inaction.
