Summary

Lamentations is a book expressing grief and lament. In today's episode, Emma Dotter talks with Watermark member, Brigiette Waldier about Lamentations 1-2. Brigiette sets up the book of Lamentations and answers the questions, "how does Lamentations portray the grief of God's people--and what can we learn about expressing sorrow biblically?" They also talk about Lamentations 2 and what it reveals about God's justice and compassion.

0:24.6	For those who don't know you, would you share a bit about what God's done in your life and what you're up to today?
0:30.1	So I grew up in the Chicago area.
0:32.5	I grew up in a really sweet family that went to a Catholic church.
0:36.3	And I believed from a really young age that I could
0:39.9	earn people's love and God's love if I was who they wanted me to be, if I did what they wanted me to do.
0:46.0	And as I grew, I became a professional people pleaser and a really great manipulator.
0:49.8	I love that title. Because of that was super anxious, especially as I got older and the demands
0:56.1	started to become more and more hats to wear I started to become incredibly anxious. And when I
1:03.0	was a junior in college, I went to the University of Iowa. I- Caitlin Clarks. Yes, Bill Hawks started
1:10.6	started going to a ministry called the Salt Company.
1:13.2	And through that ministry, a fellow peer really faithfully disciples me and started to read God's word with me.
1:20.1	And for the first time in my life, I read Ephesians too that said that is by grace that you have been saved through faith.
1:29.1	And it is not of your own doing.
