The question is, why is God looking for those with a humble and contrite spirit

coming from chapter 66? Yeah, great. What you got? Yeah, well, I would love to just read the verse

if that's okay with you, Emma. Absolutely. I have ESV, but I found another version 66, verse two, and it says, these are the ones I look on with favor,

those who are humble and contrite in spirit and tremble at my word. So I don't know about you,

but I think a couple questions come to mind immediately with this prompt for me. One was,

are only the humble and contrite, the ones who can receive salvation, and kind of this

workspace mentality that I get hung up on of, okay, what do I got to do to be humble and contrite?

And then the other thought that comes to mind is what is contrition?

Like what even, what does that mean?

And so I found a couple definitions, if you don't mind that I read them.

Yeah, please do.

So this seems to be something that God likes and is often linked to humility, brokenness, and a healthy fear of God's word.

We see that also in Isaiah, I think, 57, and then Psalm 51.
