Summary

What are the the Psalms of Ascent? Why are they significant to God's people? Today, Emma Dotter talks with Watermark member, Bri Carlisle about Psalms 120-130 and the journey that God's people made to Jerusalem where they would sing these Psalms. Bri reminds us that these Psalms point to the never changing character of God and his love for us, even when we don't deserve it.

Thanks for joining. Today, we are reading Psalm 120 through Psalm 130. And I'm joined in the podcast studio with faithful Watermark member and worship team volunteer. Bree Carlisle.

And so for those who don't know you, would you share just in so I can get to know you

better a little bit about what God's done in your life and then what you're up to today?

So my name is Bree.

And I came to Christ as a young girl. I grew up in the

church, and so I knew about God at a young age, but I didn't really know who he was and had a

personal relationship with him until I was in middle school. Big part of my testimony is struggling

with fear. I had a lot of fear as a kid, and it's funny that I'm now on the

worship team. I think the Lord's redeemed a lot of my struggle with fear, but I didn't really

sing in front of anyone until I was in middle school, and the Lord has kind of helped grow me in my

identity with him, knowing who I am, and kind of stepping into this calling of

worship leading and however that would look like. When we first came to Watermark in August of

2023, I knew that I wanted to serve the Lord and serve him in the church, and I didn't know how

that would look. And so I just sent a quick

little email, hoping that the Lord would open the door for me to lead worship. And I was so

thankful to be able to lead with Watermark today. The Lord has redeemed fear in my life with other people,
