My name is Wes Butler, and I am the director of care ministries here at Watermark, and we are

continuing our care ministries takeover of the Join the Journey podcast as we make our way through the Book of Job. And today, I am joined by my dear

friend Gabby Duke. Gabby is a former co-worker here at Watermark and a faithful Watermark member

and just someone who I'm excited to share with you all today. So Gabby, would you just start us off by sharing a little bit of your story

and how you came to know the Lord and kind of what the Lord is doing in your life these days?

And yes, so something about me that I think is important for everybody who knows I'm deaf. I actually

wear a cochlear implant. And that's how I'm able to communicate with the hearing population.

So I was born, hard of hearing. I had no hearing in my left ear and then had hearing in my right

ear until fourth grade. And then my hearing decided to do something it kind of fluctuated from fourth

grade all the way through college so got a hearing aid when it started fluctuating some days I needed

a hearing aid sometimes I didn't it just depended we never really figured out why still to this day don't know

but then when I got to college it was pretty bad and at that point got a cochlear implant

and then had to learn
