My name is Lauren Atkinson on the Join the Journey staff team, and today I am in the podcast studio with Jim Wimberley. Hey there. Jim, happy to have you on

the podcast and you were on staff at Watermark for several years. Will you tell us a little bit more

about what you did here? Yeah, I was on staff for 18 years. I spent 40 years in the business world.

And then I came on staff and was here for 18 years doing a lot of different assignments,

but the major one was pastoral care.

And I truly enjoyed, we had 12 different lay-led ministries under pastoral care and just seeing God

work in all of those different venues. That's awesome. What's one of your favorite memories

from your time on staff? I think one day I was on staff, and it's just all the people you had an opportunity to lead to Christ.

But one day I was taking calls, and we had a pastor on call, and it was a call from a guy driving down 635,

and he had seen that we're a church, and he told me about all the struggles he is going through,

and I asked him if he knew Christ, and he said he didn't, and he prayed to receive Christ

as he was driving an 18-wheeler down 635.

Wow, that's amazing.

Jim, you've had 18 years on staff, and before that, we're in the corporate

world. But will you tell us a little bit more about how you started following Jesus?

Judy and I have been married 61 years, and we have four children and 14 grandchildren.

And the first seven years of our marriage, I was not a believer. I knew the

story, but I didn't know Jesus. And I came to know Christ by reading a little booklet called

The Four Spiritual Laws. And through that little booklet, God convicted me that I was a sinner in need of a
