This week I want to share a question that was actually not submitted for the podcast.

It was submitted to me in the 40-hour Teacher Work Week Club.

We're always talking in the club about ways to cut out unnecessary tasks and

streamline the more important things, which is a fairly straightforward process

for things like lesson planning and creating papers once you understand basic principles of productivity.

But it's much trickier when it comes to the time and energy that you give students.

Here's what one club member asked.

She said, how much is enough time to give each student?

There are students who have behavior problems,

academic challenges, IEPs, family problems, those who

act up and those you need to catch parents up on after school or speak with the principal

about these student issues and dealing with emails and talking with parents are all very time-consuming.

When is it okay to say enough?

I've done all I can and I need to move on.
