As an adult now, and understanding the history of just country music,

roots music, so much of what we believe to be and associate with country music or southern music,

southern gospel music, all of it.

It comes from a melting part of a lot of different cultures,

and quite frankly owes a lot to the black community.

We had quote-unquote soul when we sang.
