Hello again and welcome to this week's episode of the Forgotten Jesus podcast. My name is T.J.

filling in for Andrew once again. Once again. I think he'll be back next week.

0:15.1

Are you sure? You may have taken his spots. Hey, let's go. I'm in. I'm in for it. He's not going to like that. He's not going to like.

0:55.8

Hey, don't forget to like or subscribe. Make some comments. That'll help us out tremendously. Yes. Pastor Robbie last week, we're talking genealogies. Candy brought up a great question. And I think we've got some research on this. Yeah, she would not let this one go. she was bothered by. Well, let me say say why. The Jequinaia problem. I was only bothered by it because I was like, I didn't understand. Apparently you weren't the only one. People might have the same issue. Yeah, like what was wrong with Jequinaia? And the reason I was asking that is because Josiah, it says Josiah father Jequinaia, and Josiah was a great king.

0:56.3

Right.

0:58.1

Among many that were not.

0:59.9

And so I'm thinking, well, what was wrong with Jack and Iya?

1:00.3

Yeah.

1:05.1

And let me say this too, because last week we were talking about how if it says you fathered, technically if you say Abe Ross fathered writer Gallity.

1:11.9

Technically, you could say that because he is your dad.

1:15.7

In a sense, he fathered you and then you father.

1:17.6

So in a sense, genealogically, you could say he was the father because

1:21.2

Jechaniah is not the direct descendant of Josiah.

1:25.0

There are people between him.

1:26.5

Okay.

1:27.1

It's good to clarify that. First thing to clarify it. Number two is there are different names for Jekinaia in the Bible. Right. We read one earlier. There's Jokinia. There's another name for Jekinae. So you got to. Yeah, some name we can't pronounce in Hebrew. Okay, and then the third issue, which is the big deal.

1:45.1

We went and did some research and found this out.

1:46.6

Okay.

1:47.1

The reason Jechaniah was disqualified from being of the line of the Messiah was because when the people were shipped to Babylon,

1:58.0

Jechaniah actually acquiesced to the Babylonian Empire. And the Bible says in

2:03.7

2nd Kings chapter 24 verse 9 that Jechaniah was cursed by God for all his evil deeds that he

2:12.5

did. Yeah. All the evil deeds that he had done and his fathers had done. And so they were cursed. And because of that, when Nebuchadnezzar seized the city, the Chaldeans came in, and they actually, he actually surrendered to them to save his life and his family's life. And I think because of that, that's where God said, no. You're disqualified from the, you saved your life, but you cursed your lineage. So he was a traitor in a sense. In a sense, he was a traitor. So he died in Babylon many years after that. And yeah, so he's out of the picture. And again, that's what we talked about. That's what Matthew's doing. He is basically saying we know, Jechaniah is Joseph's lineage,
