0:25.3	Kristen Schbucker and we are journeying through the New Testament in a year. Today we are
0:29.6	in Romans 13. So far in our journey through Romans, Paul has delivered perhaps the best exposition of the
0:36.4	Gospel in scripture. By reading Romans, we understand our sin, our need for Christ, and our identity in Christ.
0:43.5	Romans helps us behold Jesus and all that he's accomplished for us.
0:48.0	Yesterday in Romans 12 Paul switched gears.
0:51.5	He moved from explaining the gospel to describing how the
0:55.4	gospel transforms the way that we live. Paul proclaims that in light of all that
1:00.7	Christ has accomplished for us we can't possibly be the same.
1:05.0	As Paul begins to wind down his letter to the Romans, this is the truth that he lands on.
1:10.7	But we must remember that there is no latter portion of Romans without Romans 1 through 11.
1:16.0	We cannot cling to what is good without the one who was good in our place.
1:21.0	We cannot be joyful in hope without the one who secured hope for us.
1:26.0	We cannot be patient in affliction without beholding Jesus,
1:29.0	the one who was patient in affliction first.
1:32.0	Romans 12 through 16 show us how who was patient in affliction first.
1:32.8	Romans 12 through 16 show us how to live in response to Romans 1 through 11.
