My name is Katie and I am walking through the Gospel of Mark with you today, we are going to be in Mark 10.

Mark 10 starts off with another confrontation between Jesus and the Pharisees, who tested

him by asking if it's lawful for a man to divorce his wife.

How is this a test?

Well, the thinking might be that if he says yes, he is going against John the Baptist, who was beloved by crowds and who forbade divorce.

But if he says no, he might suffer John's fate, who spoke out against the King Herod and his marital situation.
