On December 1st, 1988, Vezirbuto became Prime Minister of Pakistan.

She was the first woman to lead a Muslim majority country.

there was a vote of no confidence. For the next three years she was the leader of the

opposition. In 1993 her party, the Pakistan People's Party won the election

and she became Prime Minister for a second time. She held the position until 1996.

Pakistan People's Party until 2007. On December 27, 2007, 54-year-old

Vezir Bhutto spoke at a rally. Suddenly, a gunman fired several rounds. Then a suicide bomber

detonated his device. Buto and at least 23 other people were killed.

There are conflicting reports regarding her death.

The same day that she became Prime Minister, Roy Orbison played his final show at the front row theater in Cleveland, Ohio.
