On March 4th, 1980, Disney released their first ever VHS films to rent.

They were only available in four states at Photomat, a photo developer chain.

Some of the films you could rent were, the Apple Dumpling Gang, Pete's Dragon, and The Love Bug.

The newest movie that was available to rent was The Black Hole,

which was released in theaters about three months earlier.

On March 12, 1980, after a five-week trial,

37-year-old John Wayne Gacy was found guilty

of murdering 33 young men and boys between January

172 and December 1978. His victims ranged in age from 14 to 21. The remains of 29 of his

victims were found on his property. The other four had been dumped in the De Plains River.

The next day, Gacy was sentenced to death. He spent

about 13 years on death row. He was executed via lethal injection on May 10th, 1994 at the
