For today's case, we're going all the way back to September, 1965.

From September 8th to the 10th, the following ad ran in the daily variety in Hollywood Reporter.

Madness, auditions, folk and role musicians, singers for acting roles and new TV series,

running parts for four insane boys, age 17 to 21,

want-spirited Ben Frank types, have courage to work, must come down for interview.

Four hundred thirty-seven young man edition and three were chosen, Michael Nesmith, Peter Tork, and Mickey Dolans.

They were joined by British singer and actor Davy Jones.

Together, they were the first manufactured boy band in history, The Monkeys.

The Monkeys appeared in their self-titled sitcom for two seasons.

Between 1966 and 1970, they released nine albums. The TV

show and albums were massive hits and the monkeys were one of the most successful bands

the 1960s. The band has gone through several reunions and hiatuses in the ensuing 60 years. At the time

of this recording, only Mickey Dolan's is alive.

On September 8th, 1965, Hurricane Betsy made landfall in Florida.

He eventually made its way to Louisiana.

It was the first tropical cyclone who caused over a billion dollars in damage.
