Elric the crabs!

I don't think I want to have crabs with my middle name.

I think that's what happens to when you're, you know, 15 and things go wrong. So no, let's, let's dial that back a bit. I am excited to talk

about crabs. Yeah, so we're jumping right in here. Actually, before we jump in,

how are you doing? How is your week? You went to Phoenix to see my favorite person in the world,

Monty. Yeah, I think it's been like, it's weird because we've

recording this, like it feels like that happened a couple weeks ago, but yes, I was just at the Phoenix

Film Festival, and I got to, especially the sidebar of the Phoenix Film Festival in conjunction with

the International Horror and Sci-Fi Film Festival program by our good buddy Montiazzi.

Which is a great festival. I've played there with shorts and I've had a feature there before and we went down. It was just a great festival across the board. Yeah, and I stayed close. So I just drove out there and I saw a ton of movies. A whole bunch that we're going to talk about. A couple that I thought were okay. and then a couple that, one I would say is close to the best tar film of the year.

And so it's a nice mixture of things. But yeah, they did a great job. And I was only there for like one weekend. So I'm sure there's some really cool stuff I missed during the week. But yeah, Phoenix. I always like going to Phoenix. I like Phoenix. I've long said, you know, that's one of my potential retirement cities, just because I like the weather, which is crazy. Because like most of the time when I've gone down for the festival that you were at, you roll in it. It's like 120 degrees. And somehow I'm like, I like this. But you only have two years left on the clock. Remember, then you're retirement of city. Wait, that's it. Am I retiring in two years? I thought that, okay, that's not where we're right? I thought there was a new economy and everything. I thought this would be easy. Yeah, yeah. Gashing out our Patreon and going to retire, right? That's how this works. I work as a professor and a mostly indie director. Neither of those really get your retirement in your like 40s.

So say I'm probably going to be here for another couple decades. I have to figure.

So yeah. I'm sure I'll listen. I'll be happy about it. Yeah, I'm sure. But what were some of the good things that you saw there? Well, shall we start with your crabs? So Elric's got crabs. Well, let me set it up because I saw it before you. I'll only set up, I won't set up the story, but just set up the screen. This is one of those ones where I only went to it for you. I was like, I was like, I saw it on the schedule and I was like, I don't need to see a movie called Crabs. And I was like, but Becca will be mad that I had a chance to see a movie called Crabs and I didn't see the movie. So I at least can go and tell her if it's good or not. So that's what pushed me into the theater. And I will say this was definitely an experience made a lot better by being

around a lot of infectious laughter and people who really, you know, really had a good time.

It is a good crowd pleaser of a film. See, I disagree. So Alrick had gone into sea crabs,

not knowing that earlier that week, I had seen crabs pop up on some of the film festival schedules,

and I had emailed the distributor professing my love for crabs and how I had long been waiting

for a crab horror film and asking if I could get a screening link. So I could watch it

simultaneous to him watching it at the festival. And my friends at Ravens banner obliged.

And so I was able to watch it simultaneous, which was just awesome.
