Hello and in this special episode you're going to hear the second part of my

interview with retired forensic officer Eric Jensen who in last week's episode

revealed the time of Brenda's death and a piece of evidence jammed under her ring.

We'll pick up immediately from the point where we left and I begin by asking him about coming face to face with

Kit and court which leads to an unexpected story.

You obviously were at the scene.

What was it like for you?

And I suppose it wouldn't be a question that you'd be asked

while you were a serving police officer because it'd be relevant,

but you're retired and I can ask you now.

What was it like seeing the man,

aged 82, accused of this crime sitting before you and linking that, you know, this was the person accused of committing

that horrendous act. You saw her body and even though you're professional, it's an extremely

upsetting thing to see. So then to see this effectively an old man sitting there

accused of it. Well, I had seen him as a young man.

I was present at his medical examination. I was so much involved in that case in 97 to 8. I think the feeling was rather than have somebody else in another witness or

Jensen's been involved in all this so far right we'll get him to guide the police doctor and what samples say the

lab are needing. And right enough, that would be the norm, you know, in a very serious case, you would certainly have a forensic scientist in liaising and witnessing the fact that medical samples were taken. So I was can remember I can remember the attitude, the almost arrogance. the superior Luke that was given to both the doctor and myself.

I think he was introduced.
