Hey, welcome to Teacher's Off-Duty Podcast. Over to my right, we have the wonderful Deanna. Deanna, go ahead and tell them all about you. Who are you?

Okay, great. Thank you so much for having me. My name is Deanna Smith, and I am a former teacher, educator, and I work with teachers and schools really all across the country on culturally responsive teaching and other equity work, and I'm really excited to sit down and chat with you all.

I was going to say Dr. Deanna Smith. Yes, Dr. Deanna Smith, thank you. You worked for it. It's incredible. We asked her if she wanted to be full-time on staff because Tal gets sick a lot. And I said, oh, you're a doctor, and then she said, no, I'm not that kind of doctor.

Well, please, please don't pass out on my watch. I did save a life doing CPR one time, but I guess it's a whole other story.

So, you're like an honorary doctor. You got a little certificate and everything.

Dr. Westerner is different, isn't it? Like Taylor Swift's an honorary doctor.

No, I said this is true. So, she's a real doctor?

Honorary MD. But she's an honorary doctor. I'm an honorary MD. I just made it up.

You know what? Congratulations on your teacher off to the MD certificate.

Yeah, we got a big one for me.

It's like a nighting thing. Like you have been officially nighted.

Deanna, not only is she a doctor, she's also one of the sweetest people in the world.

You're a very kind individual. She's so sweet. I love talking to Deanna.
