Summary

You’ll never be left out from Best Friend Therapy, but if it’s a feeling you know elsewhere in your life, this week’s episode might be for you.

We’re talking about FOMO, not being invited to the party, or sitting at home in your pyjamas while everyone else is out having fun (although, this sounds like Emma’s idea of heaven).

Born into the world dependent on others and racked with self-consciousness throughout puberty, it’s no surprise that humans are sensitive to feeling left out. We’re here to help you feel more grounded and better able to build connections by becoming the most *you* version of yourself, and starting from a place of self-belonging.

We talk about the joy of being left out and the importance of saying no to some invitations, to be able to say yes to the ones that count.

Elizabeth admits that she hates Glastonbury and Emma finds her spiritual home in the M&S café.

They both also lose the plot when trying to talk about a rustle in the bush and will endeavour to be more professional in future.

understand why I act the way I do. Ah, thanks Liz. She's also one of the only

0:37.2

people allowed to call me Liz. We wanted to open the doors to our friendship and

0:41.8

throw a light on the therapy we all need in our everyday lives. Each week we

0:46.5

chat about what's on our minds to get deeper in our minds. Two best friends, one

talking about something that was requested of us which is the feeling of being

1:13.3

left out and how to cope with it. Obviously I can't relate at all because I'm

1:17.8

immense left out of anything. That's a complete joke. I cannot tell you how much

1:25.6

I relate to this. And I think lots of different people will also have an access

1:30.9

point to this particular topic, even if they feel right now, surrounded by

1:35.6

friends and family and colleagues because there is always a point in almost

1:40.2

every week where we are bound to feel as though we don't know the rules, we

1:45.4

don't belong and other people are more practiced at this thing called life
