I was standing in my kitchen, having just come back

from the gym, when a second text came through. This one said, do you know anything? I'm not getting

any information. I stood staring at the phone knowing a third text was about to come through.

This one simply said, Giles died.

The sender, who wants to remain anonymous, had no other information,

only that Giles Warwick was found dead in his jail cell at around 8 that morning.

The sender wanted to know what I knew.

It was Saturday morning, November 19th.

At that point, I knew nothing, but I knew who to call.

I dialed a few law enforcement sources who confirmed what I had just been told.

Giles Daniel Warwick, the man suspected of being the Potomac River rapist, the man who had

maintained his innocence for three years, and was about to go on trial, died by suicide.

He hanged himself.

So many thoughts went through my mind.

Why now?

He was paying a private attorney.
