A creative bubble.

You know, I covered Wild Bill on my other podcast pretend years ago and I never intended

to ever reach out to him.

But on New Year's Day, he reached out to me and I couldn't pass up the opportunity.

So I started talking to Wild Bill night after night after night and in the back of my head,

I knew that I needed to reach out to the victim's friends and family.

So I reached out to Mary Whipmyer first, you know Cheryl Hughes is on and she responded

by email and she said,

William Holbert has been held in a concrete room eating rice and beans for 12 years.

He is desperate for attention.

I will not contribute to that.

Let me know when he is dead, thanks Mary.

So that didn't go very well, right?

She did not seem remotely excited that we were back on this story.

So then it made me even more nervous to contact my friend Sharon McConnell Dickerson because

I knew that she probably wouldn't receive this news well either.

I wanted to let Sharon know that I spoke to him but I just could not bring myself to

call her.

I mean, I just dreaded the idea of telling her that I spoke to the man who murdered

her friend.

But after a few days, I finally got the courage to reach out to Sharon.
