My book, the Easter Connection, would be a great enrichment for your Easter and a gift for others. https://www.seagullbook.com/easter-connection.html

In this episode Andrew Skinner and Kerry Muhlestein discuss the events of Holy Tuesday. They talk about finding the fig tree withered, and more of the Savior’s teachings at the temple, including His lament over the temple and how that led to His great prophecy about its destruction and the Last Days.

We are grateful for our sponsor, Lisa Spice, and for our producer, BJ Muhlestein, and for Rich Nicholls, who composed and plays the music for this podcast.

0:23.2

We love the audience there.

0:25.2

I'm grateful to be joined with Dr. Andrew Skinner, and we're helping everyone.

0:31.2

We hope members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and we hope also other Christians or people who are interested in learning

0:37.7

about Christ and Christianity. We hope we're helping everyone to celebrate and commemorate and

0:44.8

worship and appreciate the Holy Week or the Passion Week. And today we're talking about because

0:50.9

it is Holy Tuesday. So why don't you lead us through that a little bit,

0:55.2

Dr. Skinner, and welcome and thanks for being with us. Thank you so much. It is a privilege and

1:00.3

pleasure to be with you. I guess one of the things we ought to mention is that the four gospels

1:09.3

don't present each day in such a way as there's no doubt that the events

1:17.7

happen on this particular day.

1:19.5

1:32.6

that they come across the fig tree that's been cursed. And it's at this point, this Tuesday morning, that the apostles marvel,

1:42.8

again, at how soon the fig tree is withered away because of Jesus

1:47.5

is cursing it. Matthew, on the other hand, says that their astonishment is more immediate,

1:55.0

just as soon as Jesus curses the fig tree, apparently, it withers away. So that's a minor

2:00.0

detail, but it helps us to appreciate

2:01.6

that there is some fluidity in the chronologies or the harmonies, the gospel harmonies,

2:06.8

that are put together, because some things we simply cannot know with exactness.

2:12.8

What we do know is that Tuesday is a full day, as a rich day, as Jesus teaches, and as we've said before,
