Welcome to a year in the Bible with daily grace. My name is Kristen and my name is Katie and we want to spend a few minutes a day with you walking through the New Testament one chapter at a time.

This year we will fix our gaze upon Christ so that we may know

him, not only with our minds but with our hearts. Together we will learn that

who Jesus is changes everything.

Hey friend, it's another great day on a year in the Bible with Daily Grace.

Katie here and we are reading through the New Testament together in a year.

If you are new here, we are tracking alongside the behold studies from the Daily Grace

Co or the free reading plan linked in our show dance. Right now we are just over halfway

through the Book of Acts. A book where Luke, the author of the Gospel of

Luke, is giving us a detailed account of the early church, where the message of

salvation in Jesus is spreading to both Jews and now Gentiles. In fact today we are reading

Acts 15 where the early church will come together to correct false teachings

sneaking into the Gentile churches just planted by Paul and Barnabas.

In the previous chapter, chapter 14, we wrapped up Paul's first missionary journey.

Many of the Gentiles came to faith and he returned to Antioch another largely Gentile

came to faith and he returned to Antioch another largely Gentile church and a type of home base for Paul.

Some men were teaching that in order to be a true follower of Christ the Gentile Christians

needed to be circumcised and adhere to every letter of the Jewish

law, just that their Jewish brothers and sisters in Christ did. These Jewish Christians were

being taught that Jesus was not enough for salvation.

These men were known as Judaismizers.

Before we scoff at them too much, at this time many Christians, especially in Judea, were Jesus worshiping Jews.
